Task: Find a local night club.
User: Man, 35 years old
Step 1: User sees the interface loading and waits for a while. "The icon on screen looks like a circle, does that mean it is loading?". The user clicks the interface and says "Oh that's how it is".
Step 2: The user is greeted with an interface that should make the app customizable. The user clicks the next button provided but the button doesn't do anything, the user tries twice more but realizes nothing is happening so he clicks the skip button which carries him to the next step.
Step 3: The user clicks events mistakenly but quickly realizes that there is nothing there, and clicks the back button. I presume the user was either a bit rushed or just did not think through the difference between events and entertainment. English is also not the strongest language of the user, this might explain the confusion.
Step 4: This is the desired path for the user, the user has clicked the Entertainment interface and sees the text "Night Clubs". A smile appears on the users face. He tries scrolling but realizes it doesn't work. He waits a while, and looks like he waits for the page to load, although it is fully loaded. The user moves on.
Step 5: Finally he chooses the club "Klubb Göta" and looks at me. "Is this the only local club?" with a smirk on his face.
Interview/Reflection on task
Q: How do you feel about what you just did, was it any hard?
A: No not especially hard, I felt as if the process was quite logical, I did however get lost for a few seconds due to myself not thinking straight.
Q: I saw you clicked the the button to customize a couple of times, do you feel that is an important feature?
A: Yes in fact, that is one thing I love about apps, that I can have a library of things customized to myself. I feel that is a great feature to have implemented.
Q: I saw you waited for the application to load a couple of times when in fact it wasn't loading. Did you realize that, and what where you waiting for?
A: I did realize that after a while and honestly, I was waiting for more things to pop-up or more things to choose from. But it seems everything was already loaded.
Q: Why did you smile when you clicked night clubs?
A: Nothing special, I was happy I found it but it was mostly just funny to me since I don't go there anymore. This could be avoided with the customization that we mentioned just now.
